Hej I would most appreciate help with some confusion I have about one of my ancestors.
Emma Charlotta (f.1870-08-27) Is listed as being born illegitmate in Nydala.
Her mother was Anna Lisa Magnidotter(f.1841-07-09)
I have the EMI report from 1886 with two last names listed for Emma C 1 Mandusdotter 2 Nilsdotter
Since obtaining this report and determining that her birth father was a man named Mandus and that her step father was Nils I have found an earlier report from 1980-04-07 that states her name as Magnusdotter. This report was prepared by Lars Erlandson from the Landsarkivet 1 Vadstena.He stated that the father was not listed in the records. Did Mr. Erlandson use the household book or birth,marriage,death book? He did not state which records. My suspicion is that Emma stated her true fathers name as common knowledge but not legally recognized. I'm interested in an accurate birth name. Any help in determining a logical way to clear this would be greatly appreciated. I'm leaning toward Mandus, but I'm having my doubts. TSM Jim
