Thanks so much. It is good to hear from you, and to learn that you are making progress. The reason for finding a straight male line of a brother of Sven Svensson is that we should all have basically the same Y-chromosome (only men can contribute). If it happens that some purely male line descendent of one of the brothers of Sven is different from my own, it means that someone in the male line of Sven had an unknown birth father - like my grandfather Carl Carlsson (b. 1872 in Virserum). His birth record says illegitimate. On the other hand if the two Y-chromosome lines are the same it is strong evidence that my grandfather's birth father is the same as his (adopting) father. I know it is confusing. Hope this helps.
