Thank you, Christina. I have another question. Before emigrating to the USA, my grandfather John Axel Johansson (born 24 Feb 1866 at Smitterstad Farm, Hallingeberg) had a photograph taken of himself with his family in front of their farm house. I have always wondered whether the house is still standing. Also, I have recently learned that John Axel Johansson's maternal grandparents' former home is now serving as the Hallingeberg homestead museum. Erik Johan Nilsson and Anna Stina Ericsdotter built the house in 1860 and their initials are carved into the fireplace mantel.
