Jag svarade din släkting i Australien så här (ursäkta engelskan), Carin har ju redan gett dig en hel del av dessa uppgifter:
Hedvig was born in Munka-Ljungby October 9, 1849 to pigan (=unmarried woman and/or housemaid) Kjersti Olsdotter staying with Corpral Sv. (Sven) Hallberg in Munka-Ljungby village. Witnesses at the christening October 14 were Soldier Lars Wiberg?s wife Hanna Larsdotter in Ösjö Parish who carried the child (the mother was not allowed in church after a birth), Åbo (tennant farmer) Sven Christensson in Torfgårda and beforementioned soldier Wiberg.
Very unusual to see the name of the suspected father, but then apparently he recognized the child as his.
According to the Swedish Soldier?s register Sven Hallberg probably was the soldier who was born 3 Jan 1802 as Sven Andersson, soldiers got their names when they joined and do not necessarily have to be related, the name sometimes followed the house they were provided with. More information can be had via: www.sgf.m.se click on Knektregister, the number of this soldier is: NS-05-0028-1838 which you have to provide
Nils was born Aug 10 1848 in Munka Ljungby to crofter Per Olofsson Lind in Axtorp and his wife Gunilla Persdotter Ekberg (28 years)
Per Lind was born in Hörja parish 9 May 1820 and Gunilla Ekberg in Munka Ljungby 1820, Nov 17 They had children Nils, Jöns Petter, Elina, Kjersti and Bothilda in 1851
Gunilla?s father is probably Per Ekberg born 1786 in Munka Ljungby and her mother is ?? Jönsdotter born 1779, they are listed on the same page.
The father of Per Lind is on the same page as his son:
Ola Lind born 2 october 1793 in Hörja, widower
Re Hedvig:
She was number 4 of the children that Kjersti had with corpral Hallberg. In 1850 she had brothers August, Olof and Adolf. Kjersti was born in Barkåkra parish in 1817, it looks like the 23 March.
Korpral Hallberg och Kjersti hade alltså ett samboförhållande där han erkände barnen, de har alla hans patronymikon och efternamn. Undrar om han var gift med någon som inte bor där eller varför de inte gifte sig.
