On the 1864-1867 map Ålsta seems to be a small village, rather than a single farm: http://historiskakartor.lantmateriet.se/arken/s/show.html?showmap=true&archive=R AK&sd_base=rak2&sd_ktun=52414b5f4a3131322d36352d3131&archive=RAK

In the 1880 HFL, Ålsta seems to be a small village with 4 farms. GID 395.11.62000, [Örebro] Hallsberg, AI.22, Household examination, 1876-1880, page 20, Image 24.
Ålsta ägor means the properties of Ålsta, and Johan Magnus Ohlman was a smith, so it makes sense that he lived in a cottage on the properties of the village.
