The Mats Finne you ask about is presumably not related to the Mats Matsson Finne mentioned in this discussion, as the two persons lived in completely different parts of the country.
The name Finne was rarely a family name, but usually an indication that the person spoke Finnish as his or her mother tongue, or was an immigrant from Finland, then a province of Sweden. I suppose the name Mats Finne could be translated to Matthew the Finn in English.
