I wasn't sure if you were local to the twin cities or not and my curiosity got the better of me so I have placed an order for the death certificate of the August Swanson who died in St Paul July 10th 1946 :)
He was married to Emma Julia Ekelund born September 12th 1868, Kulltorp (F) AI:15 (1881-1890) Bild 209 / sid 201 (AID: v20680.b209.s201, NAD: SE/VALA/00196). She emigrated in 1887.
Her father's estate inventory from 1910 places her at 1003 Edgerton St, St Paul, Västbo häradsrätt (F, N) FII:70 (1910-1911) Bild 1600 / sid 90 (AID: v496285.b1600.s90, NAD: SE/VALA/01609).
That is a match for a Gust Swanson and wife Julia and their 2 children in the 1910 census.
According to the 1900 census (different address then, 596 Lawson, St Paul) Julia is said to be born in May and Gust in February...obviously hers is incorrect so I was thinking that maybe his was too...but I could be completely wrong here...
Also, Julias sister Inga Christina was living at 596 Lawson according to their father's inventory estate in 1910. I find her there also in the 1900 census on the previous page (married Linden), also with incorrect birth info. She was born November 4th 1860 but census states February 1866...

Just wanted to see if his birth date was written in his death record...common name so he could be someone complete different as well...lets see
