The hunt for the Mad Trapper continues :)
You probably have better chances of getting answers in another forum, where the focus is on american sources. Just remember to give as much information you can/have up front -- and in the case of the Mad Trapper, it's enough if you can prove they lived after 1932 to rule them out, isn't it? You don't actually need a death date ...
Oscar Leo Nelson is reported dead in 1971 in (a fragment of) a tree on FamilySearch: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LZ63-YS3.
He may be the son of Ida Matilda Larsdotter, #4.7.1 of Gustaf and Brittas descendants (https://forum.rotter.se/index.php?topic=179914.msg1593538#msg1593538) -- but note that the FS tree says his parents were married in 1889, and #4.7.1 was still unmarried in 1891 when she emigrated with her out-of-wedlock son born in 1890 ...
