This is a request for "banns of marriage", which meant that the wish of the couple to marry had to be read out in church three Sundays before the wedding could be legally fulfilled. The last bann was supposed to be read on the 12 of May, so if nobody had objected during this time, the 27 of May is a completely valid date for the wedding.
