Please note that the above referenced listing in the books, as you know, states his profession as "styrman", ~chief mate/first office and it also states that he was enlisted in the navy with registration nr: 225 207/1905. For sailors there was an institution called "sjömanshus" were sailors registered. Some of their records are available on line but I don't know if it is true in your case.
