As you mention it, Klippan is in Skåne, Gråmanstorp parish. Now you got me confused as well. I couldn't find any other Klippan with a quick search... Klippan in Skåne have/have had a paper mill.
The collectingwas a way to get an extra income to add to the quite risky farming. Starvation was never far away.A discussion on the forum mentioned a paper about 'lumpsamlare', rag collectors. I will check tomorrow if I can find that. I am sorry, but I have to get a few hours of sleep before work so I have to leave you with this.
