Yes, that makes sense. His son Per owned the property until at least after his father died in 1765 (probably longer), however, Nils' name is never mentioned on the tax register after 1750. Would that be because he would no longer be paying tax?
They must have made the agreement in 1749 or 1750. Since the notation is on the 1750 tax record - would it have to have been done the preceding year? or would it be that year? Are these agreements typically short documents?
I would love to try to locate the agreement as I've never had an opportunity to find one so far!
Does anyone know how I would begin my search? Are the records divided up in any way, like by county or parish, or are they simply by date? It may be far too complicated, but I'd like to make an attempt.
