Yes you are correct. The names above the note about Eric are the farmers that are obliged to keep a soldier and supply him with horse, croft and other equipment. They are called "rusthållare". The translation from the last note of Eric is: the military servant for Drageryd Eric Törnqvist has because he is ill and weak been discharged with the consent of the "Rusthållare", on the same day instead they have presented Per Törnqvist... etc. The name Törnqvist was kept for the next holder of the service. Eric could probably not remain in that croft but had to move and did not call himself Törnqvist any more. Since he had been there for quite some time he was probably well established in the parish and could well have remained there, especially if his wife was from that area. Considering also that the age fits, and also the name giving traditions for Eric Persson's daughter's children, it seems likely that they are the same person. BUT it still needs to be proved.... Maybe there is a stray note somewhere where the children, grandchildren are referred to as "Törnqvists's" relatives, so in your shoes I would follow them all. Good luck! /Yvonne
