Yes, I suspect that one reason for the nickname was that there's a Swedish word "gullig" (from guld/gold), meaning "cute". Choosing "Gully" as the name for your cute newborn child makes sense.
Another fragment: I couldn't find Gully Anny Maria moving from Maria Magdalena parish in the 1903 records, but I found her mother (No. 48): https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/00014752_00101 (Maria Magdalena kyrkoarkiv, Inflyttningslängder och diarier över inkomna personakter, SE/SSA/0012/B I/70 (1902), bildid: 00014752_00101, sida 105) She was born in Ovansjö parish, Gävleborg county, 1874-05-27. Moved to Maria Magdalena parish 1902-01-20 from Adolf Fredrik parish, Stockholm, and from there to Kungsholms parish, Stockholm 1903-01-14.
Her birth record: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/A0014493_00014 (Ovansjö kyrkoarkiv, Födelse- och dopböcker, SE/HLA/1010151/C/9 (1874-1880), bildid: A0014493_00014) Her parents were railway worker Börje Karlsson and his wife Johanna Apelquist from Sala.
The town Sala reappears - a possibility is that Gully Anny Maria went to live with her grandparents, a common solution for single mothers having to support themselves through work.
