"Skb" has nothing to do with "skola". It means "skattebonde" - he was thus a landowner, paying land value tax or "ground tax". "Transport pag. 12" - he is moved to page 12 in the hfl. The first columns on the right hand page says that he could read fairly well and knew the important parts of Martin Luther's catechesis by heart. That was what was deemed important knowledge back then. He might well have known how to write but he hardly wrote that formal request on his own. He might of course have signed it.
