Thanks for that, this sounds like the correct man. He claims he arrived in Australia from London in 1883 but I can not find any records of J A Johansson arriving. He gives the name of the vessel he came on as the steamer Glendover from London. The Glendower (w not v) arrived in Sydney on the date he gives, 24th Dec 1853.He says he is a marine engineer but on his wedding certificate he has put stoker. What documentation have you got that I could get a copy of?Is it possible to find the records of the marriage of his parents so I can trace his lineage?Thanks for your prompt response and the English.
