My great grandfather was John William Blom. (John William would be english version) The only information I have on him, is on an Australian wedding certificate. He was born in Sweden, but the word before that is either wrong or not spelt right. It looks like Ocery. It says his parents are Arrick Blom and Annie Ostblom. (the ostblom is also a guess as the writing is unclear) His father was a sailor and I suspect he may have been serving on a ship and deserted in Australia. He was married in 1870 aged 30, putting his birth around 1840. I do not know what part of Sweden he was from and I do not think he had other relatives in Australia. Any help would be most welcome.
