Carl Walker Erickson

PORTSMOUTH - Carl Walker Erickson, 83, of Portsmouth passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at the Edgewood Centre.

Born on Dec. 15, 1919, he was the son of Swedish immigrants, Carl and Naemi (Johnson) Erickson. A native of Hyde Park, Boston, his father built a foundry in Boston where Carl was employed for the first part of his life. Later he was a building custodian for the city of Boston Public Schools. He married Rhoda (O'Donnell) Erickson of Wellesley, and raised one son, XXX.

Carl and his family lived in Wellesley, Mass., from 1967 to 1998, when he and his wife moved to Portsmouth. He was a member of the Wellesley Congregational Church. He was a veteran of World War II and served on a landing craft at Normandy on D-Day.

He leaves his wife, Rhoda, and his son, XXX, both of Portsmouth.

PORTSMOUTH — Rhoda M. Erickson, 81, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Edgewood Centre after a long period of failing health.Born Aug. 21, 1927, in Marlborough, Mass., she was the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Ladd) O'Donnell. She resided most of her life in Wellesley, Mass., before moving to Portsmouth nine years ago.Mrs. Erickson was employed for many years as a secretary with the Boston Public Library. She was an active member of the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church.The widow of Carl Walter Erickson, she is survived by her son, XXX Erickson of Portsmouth; daughter-in-law XXX Erickson, formerly of Paris, France, now of Portsmouth; and two grandsons, XXX and XXX Erickson.
