In the book Örlogsflottans officerare 1700-1799 (Officers of fleet warships) there are 6 Rotkirch mentioned.
Fredrik, son to vice-admiral Fredrik Rotkirch, lieutunant, drowned, unmarried
Gustaf, brother to Fredrik, lieutenant, drowned, unmarried
Gustaf Adolf, son to leading seaman Lovin Fredrik Rotkirch. Temporary arklimästare 1785.12.06 (the lowist title af warrant officer, changed 1824 to leading seaman), ordinary arklimästare 1785.12.06, leading seaman 1788.08.23, temporary ensign 1789.06.09. On board at frigate Camilla 1790, ordinary ensign 1790.04.17. Resigned 1798.
Notice in the book that he was captured 1797 at Cap de Bonne Esperance.

Cap de Bonne Esperance is a place in South Africa southwest coast. There was also a fort called Le Fort de Bonne Esparance de Hollandois.
 
In the book Karl XII:s officerare (King Karl XII:s officers) thera are 20 Rotkirch mentioned. Unfortunately no more informations, except that some of them were born in landscape Södermanland.
