Holmqvist (Holmquist, Holmkvist) is a very common name in Sweden. There must have been a lot of unrelated people all over Sweden who took the name in the past. It is a waist of time to search among all of them. It could have been a military name in some cases but mostly not, I think.
Gustav Larsson Holmqvist mentioned above lived in Gävle, very far away from Rinkaby in Kristianstad län. For many reasons there cannot be any connection to your Holmquist.
Your great grandfather's name would have been Sven Jönsson Holmquist. The fact that he used a patronym indicates that he had taken the name Holmquist himself. Maybe even after leaving Sweden. Then it could be impossible to find any family by that name.
But you are lucky to have date and parish for his birth, so it should be easy to find his parents in the birth records.
