The photo below - taken around 1900 - includes the Anderson sisters, Hilda (left) and Clara (front,center), who were first cousins of my grandmother. These two young women were missionaries who died in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion in China.
I believe they may have been born in Ljung Parish, Ostergotland. I also think the mothers of the Anderson sisters and my grandmother were sisters; and their parents were Jonas Jonsson(b.19-7-1809) and Stina Mansdotter(b.12-3-1813). They were born, married, and died in Ljung Parish.
Jonas and Stina married March 12, 1841 and were the parents of seven children: Stina Maja(b.9-5-1841), Johanna(b.12-3-1843), Gustava Louisa(b.19-11-1844), Anna Sofia(b.10-9-1847), Clara Albertina(b.11-2-1849), Johan Fredrik(b.23-1-1850), Elfrida Matilda(b.27-3-1854).
It is my hope that Ljung Parish records might confirm the relationships and might in some way provide some background.
