The Swedish name of your Turnquist, should probably be CARL PETTER TÖRNQVIST (as the name Törnqvist sounds like Turnquist in Swedish...), a rather common namne in Sweden at the time. You should look for the date of birth, and if there exists some letters to him from Sweden from relatives. Otherwise it is nearly impossible to trace him...
