From the Swedish 1890 census:
Widower, Hellsberg, Anders Fredrik b. 1821 in Dunker parish, Södermanland county ---------- Child, Hilda Maria b. 1877 in Dunker Child, Carl Emil b. 1880 in Dunker Child, Carl Ferdinand b. 1886 in Floda, Södermanland county
All the children are Anders Fredrik's grandchildren - in Swedish the relationship is exactly described as daughter's daughter and daughter's son. Anders Fredrik is a former soldier, now retired on a pension. The household resides at Ulriksberg village in Dunker parish in Södermanland county.
Dunker is a parish about 100 km from Stockholm; it would be quite natural for someone from there to say that he was from Stockholm when describing himself to someone on the other side of the world.
Carl/Karl Emil cannot be found in the 1900 Census, though both of his siblings are there (no longer with grandfather; the girl is a maid, the younger boy is fostered). So he is either dead or has emigrated by this time.
This must of course be checked into more thoroughly, but I haven't got access to the records right now.
