I Am Trying to research information on my Great Grandfather Charles Emil Pettersson . He was born into Stockholm , Sweden , March 11th 1880th I believe his fathers name or Jon was John or Johann Pettersson & his mother was Thilda Helsberg .
He Arrived from Sweden Possibly late 1800 's early 1900 's .
I Have Been Told he captained a ship But Jun lotion left once in NZ but I'm not SURE IF This Is Accurate .
He married Minnie May Wiblin in Blenheim New Zealand on 13th November 1905 & died April 16th 1908th He Drowned In The Pelorus Sounds in New Zealand .
I Have Also Been Told That When he died , someone from Sweden came to New Zealand to take his son , my Grandfather , Arthur Charles Peterson, born 29-10-1906 , back to Sweden with Them . Possibly someone to do with his Swedish Grandparents . My GGrandmother Would Allow notes on this though.
The name was changed Pettersson to Peterson for ease of spelling . Karl also changed his name to Charles .
