Thank you for the information. Cecilia Petersdotter also seems to have married a third time in 1874 to a retired farmer, Anders Nilsson, if I am reading the husförhörslängd correctly.
Eva, I really appreciate the link for Anders Compan which confirms the birth date I found for him as well as giving me his mother's name. It is also interesting to me that Anders had a brother who was about 14 years older than him. May I assume that antagen means the date when he became a båtsman, and avsked is his discharge date? Could someone also tell me what 238 Född i Småland means, would this be where båtsmankompaniet number 238 was founded?
