Chris Bingefors - I'm wondering about the person Edla listed in the imigration records as Claes' mother age 50. I found a manifest for the SS Canada: http://www.immigrantships.net/v3/1800v3/canada18800519_1.html that shows passenger 215 as Edla Rockström as 50 years old male laborer. Is Edla a common male or female name? Wilhelmine, 20 year old spinster (must be Carolina as the ages match) and Emma are also on the manifest along with CA Rockström - they are grouped as passengers 214 through 217. I am also wondering how Mathilda died - she would have been between 13 and 14 years. Thank you so very much for your quick responses. I find myself more and more interested in learning about Sweden's history now and have been staying up late in the evenings to have the time to learn.
