Sam and Margareta, thank you both so much. I don't know how I missed that when I checked the Ellis island records Margareta. And Sam I made a mistake when I said she was born in Helgona, I have some records that were sent to me that show she was born in Svanshals and the family moved to Helgona when she was about 2 years old. Now I need to try to find out what happened to the siblings. The Father Johan died in 1888 and the Mother was sent to the poorhouse but there were still 5 children at home and I would love to know what happened to them. Can anyone help? Alida was my grandmother and she was very much admired by me. Too bad I wasn't into genealogy when she was alive. Thanks again Pat
