The Seaman?s houses are usually not in a register, some are and I have checked for Sven. The largest ones are not even microfilmed, but Helsingborg is. He may also have been registered in Germany. Maybe the best option is to try to find the crew or passenger lists from one of the journeys if they still exist. Find out which company ran the ships and then see if there is any paperwork from them still in existence in Germany. If he was crew, then there may be more leads there.
