I think the Sven born in 1825 may have been too old to be the Sven I am looking for but I'm not sure. How interesting if he did jump ship in Rio de Janeiro!
I know that my Sven was listed as a Seaman serveral times so he may have gone on a few voyages before coming to Australia. Someone on a different forum suggested I check to see if he was registered in a Sjöman's (sailor's) house but I don't know how to look for that.
At this stage I'm thinking the Sven born 15 April 1818 seems to be the most likely candidate although it would be lovely to able to prove it with evidence that this Sven migrated out of the country on several occassions.
