1. Till hus means that the persons are lodging with the family, but not constituting a household on their own. 2. When persons are registered på socknen, they are only noted as belonging to the parish but not registered anywhere particular, as they had no regular work and therefore lacked support (laga försvar) and because of that were forbidden to be registred. 3. A backstuga could both be a very simple hut and a regular dwelling-house, the point being that its occupants had no connection to a certain employment. 4. Absolvering means 'absolution'; the person in need of it had violated the fifth, sixth or seventh commandments.
