Hej Katrin. Det var märkligt för i den TV-intervju med Richard Widmark som jag såg så berättade han om sin farfar som hette Odin (eller Odén) som dött tidigt varefter fadern blivit fosterson i en annan svensk-amerikansk familj med namnet Widmark. Hur som helst har jag en kopia av Richard Widmarks födelseattest varav framgår att han föddes i Sunrise 26/12 1914 kl 12.45, att föräldrarna var gifta, att fadern var Carl Henry Widmark, 22 år gammal, yrke clerk och modern Ethel Mae, född Barr, 19 år gammal, yrke housewife. Lite mer uppgifter om familjen Widmark får man i Kim Holston Richard Widmark. A Bio-Bibliography där det står: Widmark´s father, Carl Henry Widmark, owned a general store in Sunrise before becoming a travelling salesman. His mother was Ethel Mae Barr. Before he was one year old, Richard and family relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where they lived until he was in the fourth grade. Thereafter the moves were frequent. They lived in five Illinois and Missouri towns. His father was of Swedish descent, his mother Scottish, English and Irish. In Princeton, Illinois the family lived over the father´s bakery. Richard had one brother, Donald. His parents were divorced in 1941.
