Hi
I am Chris Halliday from Scotland and I am researching the Halliday family of Tulliebole Castle. I am not directly linked to this family but I am writing a dissertation about them for a university project in genealogy. Tradition says a John (Hans) Halliday was a wine merchant who left for Sweden,from whom the Helledays in Sweden descend.Is there any evidence of this claim? The published genealogy for this family in 'The Scottish Nation' and 'Burkes'publications is full of errors which I am trying to correct from primary sources.
