Mats Gallon (b. 1685) has been referred to as Matthias, atleast in a book on Vallon immigration I have some excerpts from. In that same book Mårten Gallon goes by Martin Gal(l)an. Although the dates don't match, it's reasonable to assume your Matthias will be called Mats in a lot of records.
Gustaf Matsson Gallon and upwards is all on SMED 2. I'm related to this through Gustaf's son Eric, and have a reasonable amount of information on siblings etc from parish records and husförhör. If you're interested and do not have access to these microfiches, e-mail me.
