Ulf Karlsson (was he rikdrots?) and [Lejonbalk] daughter of Ulfhild Siggtryggsdotter were not necessarily second cousins. It depends on whether Charles the Deaf and Magnus Minnesköld actually were brothers. They may as well have been sorts of cousins (Charles the Deaf is not so explicitly attested as son of Bengt Snivel, Charles -or his wife- is just credibly believed to have come from the Bjellbo jarl dynasty, but he -or wife- may have been a cousin or cousin's child of previous jarls).

If Ulf Karlsson were a fourth cousin of his purported wife, or she his father's third cousin (= Charles' parent were Magnus' first cousin), there was no canonical obstacle for their marriage. Were they third cousins (Charles and Magnus in turn first cousins), such fourth-degree consanguinities received dispensations all the time. And even were they related in third degree, dispensation for such cases at that era is not unheard of - though the last alternative would have been rather difficult and presumably demanded a huge bribe to church and even some really good grounds for peace in the country.
