Hej igen Lotta!
Som du vet så har jag inte fått svar ifrån redaktören på The Wanstead and Woodford Guardian ännu. Så igår skrev jag igen till Essex County Liberies och undrade om det kanske fanns någon som kunde hjälpa med ett foto av huset. Nog visste jag att det var en ovanlig fråga, men jag tyckte ändå att det var värt ett försök. Tyvärr, som du kan se i nedanstående kopia av deras svar idag, så tycker de att det är bäst att du skriver direkt till de som äger huset just nu. Jag vet att du försökt få kontakt med dem utan att lyckas, men om du gör som de föreslår, alltså via vanlig post, så kanske det går bättre?!
Här kommer deras svar som jag kopierar här därför att det finns viss information som kanske kan hjälpa andra som forskar i England.
I have spoken to the Essex Family History Society on your behalf. We are agreed that as your friend has an address for the house in Woodford she might do best to write to the occupier and ask if they would be kind enough to send her a photo of their house. Any researcher you approached to do this would need to speak to the owner of the house first before taking a photo so it is probably cheaper and easier to make a diect approach. The only problem, of course, is if you do not have a house number and the name of the house has been changed.
The Essex Family History Society will help with genealogical enquiries although this is obviously a charged service. Your friend can contact them via their website at:http://www.esfh.org.uk
