Hi Per,
Carl Gustaf was born the right day (are you sure about that date, and other data that you have posted?), his name was changed very early, he was named Malmberg before he left Malmbäck and he left Malmbäck for Amerika. But he left 1865 and your year was 1866, that could be the year he spent in Värmland, do you know where?
Lycke is actually located in Malmbäck, both Nedre Lycke and Övre Lycke. I can not find any Nils Jonsson and Carin Gabrielsdotter there around 1832-38. But Lycke is quite common name and there are lots of them in Sweden.
I have tried to Google but get nothing, could you email me or post it.
