Hello:  I have a photograph of my 2xgreat grandfather in a Navy uniform.  I have been unable to find when he served in the Navy.  Eric Svensson was born August 22, 1827, in Gammalstorp, Blekinge province.  The Ysane household examination roll for 1847-1850 shows he was a drang at No. 5 Norje.  The Arme Museum states he was a senior crewman (boatswain) in the Navy, but they did not have the dates when he served.  Can someone help me determine when he served in the Navy?

Also, my 2xgreat grandmother, Ingar Hansdotter's (married to Eric Svensson) father, Hans Crona (Boatsman #286) (16 Kulla, Gammalstorp, Blekinge) was in the Navy.  In the 1841-1846 household examination roll it shows the Navy number 286 crossed off and replaced with the number 47. Once they were assigned a Navy number, did it change?  Also, how would I be able to tell if the last name of Crona was given to him in the Navy?

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
