Dear Doris Kandelin Whaley! I'm living in Töre since 1996 and I have been doing genealogical reaearch in my own family since 1975. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a note concerning the death of Maja Stina Johansdotter. Probably, we'll be able to find her in the records of Nederkalix parish. Töre became a parish of its own in 1909. Until that date Töre belonged to Nederkalix. I have found a few notes about Kandelins in Töre: Oskar Kandelin, 1870-1913. His sister Anna Greta, 1861-1928 m 1917 to Olof Petter Svensson, 1851-1931. They had no children together. Gerda Kandelin, b 1891, m 1913 to Oskar Karlsson, b 1885. They had at least to daughters: Göta Linnéa, b 1914; Ruth Gerda, b 1916. I'll try to ask some of the old people in the village, if they know anything more about the Kandelin family.
