Thanks for the information. Was the birthdate that I have for Anna correct? I have a distant relative in Jamtland who has also been searching for me and found a Brita Kristina born exactly the same date of 24 May 1869 who was christened in Offerdal but seemed to be born in Tege, Åre.
Is there anyway you could follow this up for me to see if it is the same person? She found this information on Genline ID:100023.13.10500 but the Anna Svensdotter who is listed in this document was born in 1841 and I'm wondering if there was an error in Anna's birthdate in this document or if this is even the same person.
If Brita Kristina did not go with the others to the USA, I'm thinking that perhaps she remained in Sweden with relatives of the real father? I don't know if there is any way to trace this.
