According to his birth note, Johan Wilhelm was a betrothal child, born Oct 28, 1842 in Vickleby parish, Öland, Kalmar county. His father Nils Peter Ericsson Isberg, who was a sailor, and his mother Helena Maria Jacobsdotter married Dec 28, 1844 in Vickleby. According to the household examination records of Vickleby 1840-1850 p. 218 and 244, Nils Peter Ericsson Isberg was born Sep 7, 1817 in Glömminge parish, Öland, Kalmar county, and Helena Maria Jacobsdotter was born Oct 10, 1822 in Vickleby.
