Children were not registered under a surname. They were registered under their first name. Example: Anna, born 9 March, bapt. 11 March, parents crofter Erik Abrahamsson, wife Anna Andersdotter living at Röstebo (name of the croft).
There is no August Alfred born in Bollnäs during the entire year of 1844; as a matter of fact, there is no one called August and no one called Alfred. I've also checked the previous year and the next year.
Where does Emibas say that he lived when he decided to emigrate? Might be easier to follow him from that end.
