I am confused.Is Västanfors in Kopperberg or Västmanland? The reason I am asking is I have
information about an ancestor that says she was born in Västanfors,Folkärna,Kopperberg. I know there is a Västanfors in Västmanland. Which area should I be searching in?

The only Västanfors I know of is located in northern Västmanland and is a part of the municipality Fagersta, pop. ca. 12 000.
Folkärna, on the other hand, is near Avesta in the southern part of the province of Dalarna.

According to the map on Lantmäteriets homepage,  map search, there is a Västanfors near Fors outside Avesta. This village belongs to Folkärna parish in the province of Dalarna and Dalarnas (formerly Kopparbergs) län (= county).
