Titel: Hultsfred or Hulpefraed???
Skrivet av: Deana L. Carlson skrivet 2001-09-28, 07:22
I am told that my Great grandfather is from Hultsfred or Hulpefraed Sweden. I do not know which is correct.

his name was John Edwin Carlson and he had 3 brothers, Hugo Albert and Earnest. Albert and Earnest died in a boating accident in 1924.

I have been told that their parents were August and Susan Carolina Carlson.

I have more information and photos at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~deanacarlson/people/edwin.html

Can you please tell me which is the correct name and if you have seen anything on the boating accident above.

Thank you so much,
Deana L. Carlson

Hi Deana,

Bredshult is a farm in Vimmerby landsförsamling (parish), but only a few hundred yards from the border to Lönneberga and Vena parish.

Vena and Lönneberga parish's belong to Hultsfreds kommun (rural district), while Vimmerby parish of course belongs to Vimmerby kommun.

You can see the farm, Bredshult on the map in http://www.algonet.se/~samblixt/kartor.htm
or

Greetings Sam and Elisabeth,

Thank You again Sam! That is exactly what I was looking for.

Elisabeth, I am sorry for the way I posted this Query, I was trying to put a little background behind the Geography question, I won't make that mistake again.

With warmest regards,
Deana
