Titel: Cajsa or Catherina - Can both be used?
Skrivet av: Joyce Philpot skrivet 2005-02-10, 01:26
I have a record 295.2.83400 - the family of Jon Persson and Cajsa Abrahamsdotter. I found a birth record in Ask on August 3, 1769 - record 270.9.1200. The baby is named Catherina - father is Abraham. Would it be common for a woman simply to use Casja instead of Catherina? I think this is the person I am looking for, but I'm not sure about the difference in the name.

Cajsa (Kajsa) and Catharina (Katarina) is originally the same name, as Johan and Jan - Magnus and Måns etc.
