Titel: Nyström from Norrbotten and Blixt from Jämtland
Skrivet av: Anna Persson skrivet 2008-07-09, 08:36
Hi,

I am helping a friend in the US to find out what happened to her grandfathers siblings and we would really appreciate some help as we are a bit stuck.

We're looking for information on what happened to the people below as we cannot find them on either Emibas or the Swedish Death index CDs.

This is the information that we have that might help:

GID: 1987.11.25100
Alptappen, Nederluleå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.

Maja Lisa Nyström (widow, maiden name Johansdotter), b. 27 April 1846 Luleå Stadsförsamling, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.

the children:
Anna Maria, b. 24 April 1866 in Råneå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.
Ida Sofia, b. 25 December 1867 in Råneå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.
Isak Peter, b. 1 April 1872 in Råneå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.
Fredrik, b. 1 July 1876 in Råneå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.
Arvid, b. 11 June 1880 in Nederluleå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.
Oscar Fritiof, b. 21 April 1882 in Nederluleå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.

Her son outside the marriage:
Johan Efraim, b. 22 July 1888 in Nederluleå, Norrbottens län, Norrbotten.
--------------------------
We know that both Arvid (emigrated around 1901) and Oscar Fritiof (emigrated around 1903) emigrated as we have their details in the US, but we cannot find them on the Emibas CD.
--------------------------
We also know that Ida Sofia married Olof Blixt, b. 1860 in Norderö, Jämtlands län, Jämtland.
They had two children:
Erik Rudolf, b. 1895 in Östersund, Jämtlands län, Jämtland. (we found his records on the Emibas CD)
Knut Olof, b. 1899 in Frösö, Jämtlands län, Jämtland.
They resided in Hornsberg municipalsamhälle, Frösö, Jämtlands län, Jämtland.
--------------------------

Any information on the future of the Nyström and Blixt family is appreciated.

Best regards
Anna and Susan

Hi all,

Thanks for helping out!

We don't think that the Anna Maria Nystrom born 6 July 1866 is the right woman... as our Anna Maria was born 24 April 1866 or what do you think?

Best regards
Anna and Susan

På en sajt hittade jag detta:
I found this at a site

Emigranter från Råneå till USA och Canada, som erhållit flyttningsbetyg till utlandet. (Från Norman till Olofsson H.)
Emigrants from Råneå to USA and Canada, who got moving out permit for travelling to foreign county.
Jag tog ut alla NYSTRÖM. I copied all Nyström:

None of yours, as it appears! That is not saying your persons emigrated, they may have been residing other parishes.

Nyström August Vilhelm, bond s, 1874, og, 1904, 30.
Nyström Axel Ludvig, torp s, 1876, g, 1909, 33.
Nyström Axel Mauritz, arb, 1907, og, 1926, 19.
Nyström Johan Oskar, arb, 1884, og, 1902, 18.

Hi,

I made the same mistake so there is no need to worry about it, we're just extremely thankful that you are trying to help us out!

There is of course the off chance that the death index CD record has her birth data wrong. We cannot double check that as Genline doesn't go up to 1900.

I also tried double checking Anna Maria Nystroms (not sure which one) birth data when she worked as a maid in 1890 at Gård 97B, Östersund, Jämtlands län, Jämtland but I couldn't find her on Genline.
I also tried searching for the boys on the WW1 records but I couldn't find any of them there either (except Arvid, Oskar Fritiof Nystrom and Erik Rudolf Blixt).

It would be a bit odd if none of the family members or the extended Blixt family members made it passed 1949... well, except Arvid, Oskar Fritiof Nystrom, Erik Rudolf Blixt...

Best regards
Anna

Anna

Not sure what you know, but..

Eric Rudolf Blixt (transcribed as Blilt) arrives to New Yourk on board Lusitania Oct 4. Perhaps he travells together with Ada Andersson from Brunsflo, she is at least on the same boat and also heading for Two Harbors.
Eric is heading for his Uncle P E Lunder/Linder?
Ada is heading for friend J F Westerlund (She later marry Carl Valberg)

Eric is stating Olof Blixt as close relative in Sweden

When S/S Stockholm leaves New York July 3rd 1923 have 16 seamen deserted, one of them is 24 year old Knut Olof Blixt. Can this be your man?

Ancestry has passport applications and there is Rudolph E Blixt found.
He is born April 8, 1895 and has lived most of the time in Two Harbors, except 18 month's service in US Army
Now, 1921, will he go to Sweden for visiting his parents.

Rudolph died April 26, 1943 and is burried in Long Island National Cemetery
Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA
