This is my first time using the discussion board. I'm working on my family history. My great great grandfather;
Andrew Johnson was born on May 7, 1821 in Hamneda parish, Kropobergs, tan, Sweden. He was confirmed in 1837 and married Christine Brita Nelson on 7/15/1845. Andrew immigrated to the US in 1872. And lived in Princeton, Ill until his death in 1917. It's my understanding that Andrew and Christine had nine children born in Sweden. His son Noah A. Johnson, my great grandfather was born on 11/4/1864. I would like to verify the information I have found as well as find the names and birth dates of the other 8 children of Andrew and Christine. Where do I find this information and help?

Hi Ron,
I sent you 3 e-mails with some records attached.
Looks like the family lived there for a while, and the records were pretty easy to find. Let me know if you do not get them.
Please feel free to use my personal e-mail.

Thank you to those who furnished information on my great great grandfather, Andrew Johnson from Hamneda.
I also have a great grand father who came from {Partille, Alvsborg Lan, Sweden}. The name he used in the US was John E. Widen. I've learned that last names do change. His fathers first name was Johannes and his mothers first name was Inga Maria. He was born December 26, 1859 and emigrated to the US in about 1883.
I'd like to find out more information on him, his family and siblings-if any. I would appreciate any tips or suggestions. Greetings to you.
