Hi Everyone,

I can't read a particular word in a household record for one of my ancestors. In Nora bergsförsamling AI:4b (1743-1752) f157 (AID v51979.b163.s157), for the first entry (household of Lars Anderson), the children Petter, Lars and Anna all seem to be indicated as children of the mother only (as opposed to Margeta and Marina, who are children of this couple). Am I reading that correctly? That would make sense, since the head of this household, Lars was born in 1711, while the fru is born in 1704 and Anna (the oldest child) born in 1727. Thank you for any guidance you can provide on that notation! Best regards, John

The word is stuf-, sometimes written stiuf-, it means step-, stepson and stepdaughter.

Best regards Katarina
