Can some one assist me as I am Looking for my GGGrandfathers birthplace of Goldholme that was once a trading port on the Tanna Fjiord in the early 1800's.
I cannot find it on any maps and the only reference is in an account of Charles Darwin who mentioned it as an important trading port prior to the demise of the Salmon fishing industry.
Appreciate any assistance.

With connection to salmon fishing it should be Tana fjord in northern Norway
the mouth of river Tana. There is also a small island (holme) named Gullholmen (Gull = gold).
(Location as from Google maps = 70.486851, 28.340683)
So if your GGGF had connection to Norway, this might be the place...

Thank you so much for this information.
Where could I find parish records for this place. Not sure if I need to search Norway, Finland or Sweden?
Appreciate this info if possible,

It's definitely Norway and a site you can use is Norske digitalarkiv http://arkivverket.no/Digitalarkivet. Otherwise you can post a query within Anbytarforum/Norge.
