I am looking for Hans Karl Andersson born 11/1 1866 in Håcksvik(P) and hif wife
Anna Matilda Persdotter born 21/9 1868 also in Håcksvik.
They emigrated after 1900.
The wife and children went from Copenhagen to New York with S/S United States, and arriwed 16/6 1903.
She was going to her husband in New Britain, Box 1046, Connecticut.
What I would like to know is what happend after that.
Can anybody help me to find them on any records in USA?
I would like to find out if there are any relatives still alive.

Hi Catharina, this seems to be the family in the 1910 census. The year of immigration for the wife and all but the two youngest children was 1903, Thena and Ellen were born in Connecticut while all of the rest were born in Sweden.

Gertrude was born Greta 15/12 1900 in Halmstad. She used Gertrude most of the time in Connecticut. There she married pattern maker Carl Raymond Carlson before 1930. He was born 26/8 1899 in New Britian in Connecticut and died 15/4 1983. Gertrude died 5/10 1980. Both in Newington, Hartford, CT.
I have found the records in Ancestry and SCB Records for the birth of Greta.
Alma was married to music teacher Harold Algot Sjolander. He was born 5/8 1888 in Connecticut and died 21/9 1951 in Newington. Alma died 16/5 1984 in Chester, Middlesex, CT. They had son Robert J Sjolander (1923-2003)and daugter Verna J married Thrall.These records are found in One World Tree for the family.

Living at the same address in 1930 is a Carl Anderson (and his wife Anna) who might be his son, but it states he was born in Pennsylvania and was 29 years old, so maybe this is not him. This is probably the son's World War I draft registration card from 1918, he was a bookkeeper at Corbin Cabinet Lock Company, and his nearest relative was Charles H. Anderson who lived at the same address, 17 Griswold Street in New Britain. That also matches their address from the 1920 census.

In 1910 and 1920, Charles is an iron molder, in 1930 he is a janitor in a factory. Daughter Hanna in 1910 does assorting work in a castings factory, perhaps the same one where her father worked. Daughter Alma in 1910 is a time keeper in a factory that makes bolts and hinges and in 1920 it says she is a clerk in a hardware office. Son Carl in 1920 is a laborer in a lock factory, and Gertrude works at a printing company (I am not sure what her specific occupation was, it looks like heurpopher. Daughter Ellen in 1930 is a public school teacher.
