Hi Everyone This is my first time posting a message here so please forgive any errors.  I'm doing researh into Karl/Charles Frederik Hallgren who was born in Stockholm, in 1869.  He came to Victoria, Australia in I think the late 1880's.  His first child was born in Victoria in 1892, he married Kate Cunningham in 1897 and he died in Victoria 1910.  From what I have been seeing on the message board there are people who have CD'S with emmigrants listed.  If anyone could have a look for this Karl Hallgren I would be very grateful.  Kind regards Dianna

Carl Fredrik Hallgren b. 1869 in Söderhamn, Gävleborg's county, listed in Census 1880 in Klara parish, Stockholm, residing with fosterparents.
They were: Axel Gustaf Lindberger. b. 1850 and Josefina Charlotta Carlsson.
I have not found him in emigration records yet. Probably you have to browse moving out records for Klara parish.

Carl Fredrik listed in Klara parish as obefintlig i.e. not present in 1885. At the same time a remark saying moved to Tegnérgatan 4, (street address) on 20 Febr. 1886.

The birth book for Söderhamn says that the mother wishes to be anonymous, which is usually a dead end. BUT someone has later added:
Mother Brita Katarina Hallgren, 23 years old, carpenter´s daughter from Kyrkbyn in Järvsö parish
Father: Shop keeper G F Thorslund, Stockholm. Address: Regeringsgatan 94 A, THe Spice Shop.
(I have never seen such detailed notes for an illegitimate child)
The baptism witnesses include the mother´s brother. The child was born at the midwife, mrs Norén´s home.

I have found his mother Brita Katrina Hallgren and her family in Järvsö parish.

According to the Järvsö records Brita Katarina died Nov 27 1869 e.g. 8 days after giving birth.

Maybe that is why they added the details, because the mother died so soon after and so young.
